About This Class
Vietnamese cuisine is celebrated for its fresh herbs, balanced flavours, and delicate use of spices, making it one of the world’s most vibrant and healthy cuisines. In this colourful class, our expert chefs will teach you essential techniques to create authentic Vietnamese street food at home. You’ll prepare prawn summer rolls, sticky lemongrass and honey pork balls, and Nuoc Cham dipping sauce, mastering the balance of sweet, sour, salty, bitter, and umami. Our chefs will also demonstrate how to prepare fragrant beef pho. By the end of the class, you’ll have the confidence to recreate these bold, fresh dishes in your own kitchen. What You Will Be Making: • Prawn summer rolls – Light and refreshing rice paper rolls filled with prawns, herbs, and vegetables • Sticky lemongrass and honey pork balls – Savoury and aromatic with a hint of sweetness • Nuoc Cham dipping sauce – A perfect balance of sweet, sour, and salty flavours • Fragrant beef pho (chef demo) – A rich, spiced broth with fresh herbs and rice noodles Skills: • Understanding the five key flavour profiles of Vietnamese food • Knife skills for preparing fresh herbs and vegetables • Identifying and using traditional Vietnamese herbs and spices • Shallow frying for perfectly cooked pork balls • Using a pestle and mortar to extract maximum flavour What You Will Take Home: Any additional portions of food prepared during the class. Everything you prepare will either be eaten during the class or taken home. To reduce waste, please bring your own containers.
