Frequently asked questions

Do I need to have a certain level of experience or knowledge to do a class?

No. Our tutors will proudly tell you they can teach anyone to cook, even if you’ve never picked up a pan in your life. And if you are an experienced cook, our tutors will make sure you leave with new skills.

Can children attend these classes?

Children aged 10-16 must always be accompanied, supervised and assisted by a paying adult when attending a cooking class. They must be able to reach and work at the height of a standard kitchen surface (900mm) without the use of a stool or other object to raise their height. We also use large chefs knives in all of our classes. Please contact us if you have any queries.

If you wish to book a private childrens party/ class then please use the contact form.

Do you cater for people who can't eat certain things/ have intolerences and allergies?

Absolutely. We can cater for vegans, vegetarians and anyone with allergies and intolerances. There may be some courses that are just not suitable at all, but for the most part we can try to adjust. Just call us or tell us what you need on your booking form. We’ll call you if we have any questions.

What should I wear?

Please wear cool, comfortable clothes and flat shoes (no sandals or open toe) . It can get warm in the kitchen, and you’ll be on your feet for most of the day. And don’t wear your Sunday best – wear something you don’t mind getting a bit messy (although we will give you an apron). We also suggest that you bring wellies or walking boots as we may be taking a stroll around the farm.

What should I bring with me?

PLEASE SEE COVID UPDATED COVID INFORMATION

Do I take anything home with me?

Everything you make on the day, you’ll either eat or take home. Each course description tells you what you’ll take home.

Do we eat whilst we are there?

With most of our classess, you’ll eat what you’ve made for lunch or supper. Otherwise, our chefs will cook for you, if a meal is included. Whatever you don’t eat during the day, we’ll wrap up for you to take home.
