Cook the classics of the French bistro (V)(GF)

About This Class

This class brings the warmth of a French bistro into the kitchen, working through a menu of proper, comforting classics that you'll cook from start to finish. You'll begin with individual caramelised onion tarte tatins, cooking the onions low and slow until they're sweet, and sticky, topped with crisp puff pastry and flipped out beautifully — always a satisfying moment. Alongside it, you'll whisk up a classic French dressing and learn how to get the balance of mustard, vinegar and oil just right, a small skill that quietly improves everything you cook afterwards. Then it's on to tartiflette, the Alpine favourite of potatoes, onions and melting cheese baked until bubbling and golden. To finish, you'll make crème brûlée from scratch — a silky vanilla custard with that thin, glassy layer of caramelised sugar you get to crack yourself. You'll sit down to enjoy what you've cooked at the end of the class, and go home confident you can put a full bistro menu on the table without leaving the house.
