In this cosy, festive class, our expert chefs will guide you through the techniques to create two timeless festive treats from scratch - each one guaranteed to impress your family and friends. You’ll roll and fill a rich chocolate sponge to make a traditional Chocolate Yule Log, complete with silky ganache. Then, you’ll master the art of sweet, spiced mince pies - from making short crust pastry by hand to creating a perfectly balanced mincemeat filling with fruit, citrus, and spice. Throughout the class, we’ll share tips for festive presentation, flavour variations, and time-saving tricks. What You Will Be Making: • Chocolate Yule Log – A rich chocolate sponge filled and rolled with whipped cream, covered in ganache • Traditional Mince Pies – Buttery shortcrust pastry filled with spiced fruit mincemeat and finished with a dusting of icing sugar Skills: • Making and rolling sponge without cracking • Whipping and folding techniques for light fillings • Creating glossy chocolate ganache • Shortcrust pastry from scratch • Balancing sweet spices in mincemeat • Festive decorating and presentation tips What You Will Take Home: All your delicious Christmas creations. Everything you make will be enjoyed during the class or taken home. We ask that you kindly bring your own containers to help reduce single-use packaging.
