About This Class

We are very aware that making your own pastry can be a terrifying concept. But after this course you will be creating perfect pastry again and again. There is nothing better than breaking into that crumbly pie crust or flaky puff pastry that makes a mess of your outfit! On this course you will learn to make 4 different types of pastry. Hot Water Crust, Shortcrust and a Rough Puff Pastry. For your lunch you will use your Shortcrust pastry to make the following: • Spring/ Summer- Pasties • Autumn/ Winter- Beef and Mushroom Pie What you will be making: • Pork Pies • Shortcrust Pastry Pie or Pasty (You will have this for lunch) • Rough Puff Pastry (Sausage Rolls) Techniques Learnt: • How to make delicious pork pies with a Hot Water Crust Pastry. • How to make sausage rolls with your own Puff Pastry • How to make Shortcut Pastry that you can use for lots of different things! • How to roll pastry into a perfect round • How to shape pies using moulds. Everything that you prepare will be either eaten for lunch or will be taken home. You will have two pork pies and sausage rolls to take home so please bring takeaway boxes. - UPCOMING CLASS DATES 2024 - NOTE: If you are looking to book for more than one person but cannot change the 'Number of Participants' from 1, it means that there is only one space left on the class. You will only be able to book one space.
