About This Class

Of all the countries in the world, France is perhaps the most famous for its cuisine. Cuisine, gastronomy, sous chef… these are all French words, and for good reason! The elegance and quality of French cuisine makes it great for occasions where you want to impress, but there are also simple recipes that take no time at all to prepare. French food is hearty, warm and full of flavour, so learning some new recipes is a great way to add some variety to your repertoire (another French word!) On this course you will make. • French Onion Soup and extra cheesy croutons ( This will be your lunch) • Tartiflette • Magret de canard (Pan fried duck breast) • Crème Brulee (This will be a demo, but don’t worry this will also be your dessert!) Techniques learnt • Knife skills • Preparing and cooking duck breast • Making Crème Brulee • Caramelising onions • Learn about stocks and sauces You will take home: • French Onion Soup • Cooked pan fried duck breast ( great with a salad for that evenings dinner or next days lunch!) Everything that you prepare will be either eaten for lunch or will be taken home. We are actively trying to cut back on single use containers as much as we can. So please help us by bringing containers for leftover soup and duck breast. - UPCOMING CLASS DATES 2024 - Sunday 21st January Thursday 8th February Saturday 9th March Thursday 4th April Saturday 4th May Sunday 13th October Thursday 14th November NOTE: If you are looking to book for more than one person but cannot change the 'Number of Participants' from 1, it means that there is only one space left on the class.
